A Case Report is defined as the scientific documentation of a single clinical observation and have a time-honored and rich tradition in medicine and scientific publication. It is part of the Evidence Hierarchy in evidence-based practice. A Case Report is performed on less than four patients.

A Case Series is case report consisting of more than four patients while four patients or less should be submitted individually as case reports.
